Lazy Summer Days.

This is the first time in many years that I have looked forward to summer. After living in Florida for nearly 30 years, I was so over hot weather and sunny days, and had relished the grey, cold winters in N.C. This past winter though, was rough. I got depressed, my feet were always cold, and the hellacious wind here on top of the mountain, never ceased, I finally understood the snowbird mentality.
We haven't been doing much of anything this summer. I start the day by opening all my windows and letting the cool morning air. (I've tried to sleep with a few windows open, but there are so many animals out and about at night, it can get noisy).I sit outside with my cup of coffee and do my devotions, then check email, Instagram, and Pinterest, play a little Yahtzee with Oliver, then it's on with my normal day of homemaking activities, followed by reading in the afternoon. This is the exact same schedule as the winter, but it feels so different in the summer!
Yesterday Brewier and I hiked Catawba Falls; it was beautiful...extremely humid, but beautiful. I always say Im going to hike in the winter, but it really is too windy. Today Megans BFF, Shirlee, is flying up from Florida to spend a week with us, sans kids, so Oliver will be hanging with me most of the time.
