I've been wanting a long necklace and have seen some very nice ones online, but dropping several hundred dollars on a piece of costume jewelry is not realistic, so I pulled out my stash of bits and pieces, and made this. This silver dollar is from 1923, and I found it at a yard sale 25 years ago; someone spent a lot of time cutting it out. The pearl adornment looks like it was once a pin. I bought it for $1 at a flea market. The chains are from Micheals, because I have no old chain jewelry. I'm pretty happy with how my necklace turned out; it is one of a kind and goes well with my very neutral wardrobe.
