It Didn't Rain Yesterday!

We have had so much rain, flooding, rock slides, road closures...it's crazy. Yesterday the clouds parted; there was sunshine, and temperatures in the 70's! We went out for coffee! We went to Anthropologie! then stopped by the Beehive, and made plans to meet Sophie at Sierra Nevada. It sounded like a great idea until we got to the brewery, and it was packed with the line out the door. I've never seen it so busy! We found a parking spot, but Sophie, wasn't as lucky, so a new plan was formed. We would go to Wicked Weed; Asheville had been practically deserted that morning. I guess all the tourists had been sleeping in, because just like Sierra Nevada, downtown was packed with people. Megan had to wait 10 minutes to get a parking spot in one of the garages, and while she did that, I scored part of an outside table, down in the tap room at Wicked Weed. Sophie called to say she was stuck at Biltmore Village in stand still traffic. After 15 minutes of not moving, she gave up and turned around and went home. Megan, Oliver and I had a good time visiting with some people from New York, and enjoying a delicious meal, (I had a very tasty IPA hot dog,) after which we walked through the hoards of wandering people, to the library to pick up some books Megan had on reserve. As we were leaving, Sophie texted to say she was downtown at Catawba Brewery, and did we want to join her? But of course! It felt good to be out in the sun, enjoying the moment, and not thinking about moving or unpacking boxes. Today the clouds and rain are back. I love watching their progress from our back deck.
