I'm Feeling Very Grown-up

And somewhat proud of myself. You see, I tend to be a very compliant person, and not really one for standing up for myself. I changed that today. Remember how Apple replaced my MacBook last month? Well the shiny new MacBook they sent me has had speaker problems since I got it. Yesterday I finally called Apple Care and talked to a a really nice tech who listened to my issues, told me that I would probably get a new replacement MacBook, and transferred me to his senior care specialist. This second guy...I was not impressed. He said they could only replace my computer if I took it into an Apple store where a repair person could hear and verify my problem. I told him I am physically unable to go to the store, and he said all he could do was send me a FedEx box and have me mail it in for repairs. I thanked him for his help, but was not really happy with this solution. I am SO over not having a computer while its off being repaired, and this is a NEW MacBook. It should not have problems. It bothered me when I went to bed. I woke up grumpy, thinking about it, and after lunch I called Apple Care again. My heart was pounding and I was sweating. I was about to confront someone, tell them I was not happy, and what I wanted them to do about it. I explained my situation to this new tech, and told him I wanted a new computer and not a repair. He said that might be possible and he transferred me to his senior care specialist. This time I got a really nice guy who listened to my request and tale of woe; ran diagnostics on my computer and determined that I should get a new replacement MacBook. And I accomplished it by myself. (Like I said, this is a big deal for me.)

And because I know a blog post without a picture is pretty boring, I give you our Sunday dinner.
