The Day of the Pig.

Greg slaughtered his pig the other day, (I think slaughter is one of my least favorite words,) and spent today roasting it. I normally don't eat pork, but since my brother offered me some of the choice, loin meat, I thought I'd give it a try. Let me tell you, fresh pork tastes entirely different than anything you buy in the store. It was delicious.

A labor of love that was well worth it. I'm glad you and Brewier made it by.

I'm not usually a big fan of pork either and always marvelled that it was related to bacon which has always been first on my list of "what I would eat if I could only eat five foods ever again". Nigella has a couple of recipes that are fabulous.

Oh man, my parents did that to our pet pigs one Saturday in my childhood. To this day I gag on ham. (But bacon? Bring it on!!)
