It Works Every Time!

Several years ago while in the car on a trip I cut this picture of a cats head out of a magazine. Megan was half asleep in the back seat....that is until I turned around with the now cat head mask held up to my face and meowed. Yes, she was totally freaked out. Every now and then I will pull the cat head out and torment Megan with it, because its fun!
Today while Meg (who is 21) was back in her bedroom, miss kitty made another appearence. I stood in the darkened hallway and slowly pushed her door open and meowed. Much to my delight, Megan nearly jumped out of her bed. Apparenty because the hall was dark and what I was wearing was dark, what Megan saw was a disembodied meowing white cat head. Thank you for being a good sport Megan, and please don't terrorize me while I sleep.

Now you got me wanting to run out and buy a magazine to find me a cat head to terrorize my children with.

Good morning and happy SITS day. I'm a 1961 gal myself.

That is too funny! :-)

Hee! This is the exact kind of thing my dad would've done to us when I was a kid. Like wehave9, I'm always looking for a way to scare the crap out of my kid, too! (Like father, like daughter, what can I say?)

Cheers!

That's pretty funny...but be careful...what goes around comes around, and she may be planning her revenge soon.

Creative Junkie said...

I'd be too scared to do that with my kids, because they'd think of something a lot worse to scare me with as payback.

Oh! Another evil, bad mother - it is nice to meet a kindred soul. My son is the best ever to scare, sometimes I do it just to make myself smile ;-)

Too funny but then again not so much. When my brother and I were 3 & 5 we went to the top of the stairs at our grandparent's home. It was time for bed and so we were going to head down to the basement. Well, my uncle had been laying with his head on the floor while wearing a SCARY mask and he came charging up the stairs after us. TO THIS DAY, we both HATE that basement and run up the stairs for fear someone or something will be after us. FYI, I'm 35 but don't tell anyone. Wink Wink! I feel for your daughter. Is she now terrified of cats?

Kelly said...

Oooh, I can so see this in my mind!! It would have scared the snot out of me also!!! Classic prank!

Ha ha. Too funny. Something I would do. Inspired by the movie, The Others, my husband came home to find me on our bedroom floor in the dark draped in my old wedding veil rocking back & forth. As soon as he opened the door, I said "But I AM your daughter."

thotlady said...

Came over from SITS. Congratulations for being the featured blogger.

I scared the cr@p out of my husband one time. Standing around a hallway corner and when he rounded the corner I yelled out boo! He must have jumped two feet in the air. Notty me.

thotlady said...

I meant 'naughty' me. Boy my spelling. ;)

Shannon said...

Too funny! My husband likes to scare me, too... but he doesn't have to use a mask or anything. I just mean that he sneaks up behind me and will say something or tap me on the shoulder... but since I usually dont hear him walking up behind me, I usually yell and jump! He thinks its hilarious. Me, not so much.

Untypically Jia said...

OMG that is too funny! I can't wait to have kids!

Candid Carrie said...

Seriously, doesn't everyone do this kind of stuff with their kids?

Now, make the kitty sing this ditty:

Memory, all alone in the moonlight.

I can smile at the old days,

I was beautiful then.

I remember the time I knew what happiness was.

Let the memory live again.

Yes, you CAN crank it up a notch!

Okay, now that? Was priceless. My little one is too small to torture just yet, but I foresee using such tactics in her teen years.
